FAQ
A snorkie is a designer breed made by cross-breeding a Miniature Schnauzer and a Yorkshire Terrier (Yorkie). They are a sweet, loving breed that get along well with other dogs as well as cats. Once they shed their puppy coat they are a non-shedding hypoallergenic breed. We find that the mix of the two breeds gives you puppies that are not very yappy, love people, and do great both with a single owner or in a family setting.
- Blanket that smells like mom.
- Toy.
- Bag of puppy food to transition them to your chow of choice.
- Bag of the litter pellets. If you do not plan on having them continue using a litter box I recommend putting them in the desired potty area in your yard so they can better locate it by smell.
- Documentation, including their pedigree, vaccination records, and helpful tips for making the transition easier.
In my experience with puppies they have a hard time understanding that the puppy pads are different from blankets and rugs. We use pine bedding pellets that you can get at any pet store or feed store (we use IFA) so that they can better identify their potty area by smell. If you have a yard for your pup, I recommend sprinkling some of the pellets in the area that you want them to potty.
We use the IFA brand puppy chow. It is in small kibbles that are easy for them to eat. You can order more here:
